07|12|2016      Strong Japanese market support opens opportunities for ASC certified oyster

With the recent introduction of ASC certified oyster in one of Japan's largest retail chain, Kasumi Co. Ltd., ASC certified seafood is quickly gaining popularity and wider recognition in this fish-loving nation. The initiative of Kasumi to introduce locally sourced certified oysters was strongly supported by the wholesaler Ibaraki Suisan Co. Ltd., which achieved its Chain of Custody certification and logo licencing in September this year.

06|12|2016      ASC welcomes the first certified farm in New Zealand
Moana New Zealand Blue Abalone has become the first farm to receive ASC certification for responsible aquaculture in New Zealand. The land-based abalone farm, located in Bream Bay in northern New Zealand, received its certificate after a third-party on-site assessment by the independent certification company SCS Global Services.

Best Aquaculture Partners has become the first shrimp farm to gain ASC certification in Thailand. The farm is located in the Suratthanee province and has been assessed by Control Union Peru (CUP), an internationally accredited conformity assessment body.
