ASC takes part in popular session about the Future of Seafood Ecolabelling and Certification

September 5, 2012

On 5 September, 2012, ASC took part in the Future of Seafood Ecolabelling and Certification seminar, a pre-summit workshop that was part of the Hong Kong Seafood Summit programme. ASC’s Standards Director Bas Geerts took part in the panel discussion together with representatives from the Global Aquaculture Alliance, Friends of the Sea and the Marine Stewardship Council.  The popular session was a success with over 100 attendancees and an additonal waiting list of 50 persons.

The evolution of certification programmes in the market and future trends for eco-certification was the theme of this workshop. The session was organised by the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative and the SeaWeb organisation. Peter Hajipieris, Director of Sustainability & External Affairs, Birds Eye Iglo, acted as programme chair.
