The ASC presents its new visual identity in Brussels

April 27, 2010

On April 27, the ASC presents its new visual identity at the European Seafood Exposition. The ASC – founded by WWF and IDH (Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative) – is proud to present itself as a ‘first time exhibitor’ at the ESE 2010. The visual identity that Ogilvy Amsterdam produced for the ASC pro bono represents exactly what the ASC stands for: transparency, responsibility, credibility, independence, linking demand with supply and effectiveness.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Philip Smith expects to be heading for three extremely busy days: ‘This is the first time the ASC presents itself at an international seafood exposition. Seeing all the meeting requests we’ve had coming in, it looks like the whole industry is eager to find out what the ASC can do for them’.

The presentation of the ASC at the European Seafood Exposition in Brussels where all major players in the seafood industry are present, is an important stepping stone towards the introduction of a credible consumer label for responsible aquaculture for twelve seafood species groups. The species groups were chosen because of their potential impact on the environment and society, their market value and the extent to which they are (potentially) traded internationally. The ASC will create market demand for responsibly farmed seafood by introducing a label. Major seafood buyers, seafood processors, retailers and NGO’s have already publicly supported the ASC.
