Marketing Manager, US
Athena’s experience blends over a decade of nonprofit work and food/beverage marketing. She graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in English Literature, American Studies. An animal lover and environmentalist, Athena grew her career advocating for shelter animals at the Humane Society and, later, providing critical services at the Foundation for Animal Care and Education. Athena managed programs ranging from foster care and new rescue initiatives to PR and fundraising. She took a leap of faith pursuing another passion – wine and food – taking on a role as hospitality director for a Certified Green winery and vineyards, eventually leading the marketing and communications department.
Sustainability and community are always top-of-mind. Athena loves creating content and messaging to help people understand where their food comes from and why they should care about the impacts. When she isn’t dreaming up campaigns or planning events, Athena can be found in the garden with her dogs, cats and chickens, exploring the outdoors, and cooking vegetarian (or pescatarian) feasts with her husband. Athena splits her time between the east and west coasts of the US, where she grew up. Her favourite place to be? The beach.
