Genevieve has 10 years’ experience as a journalist in both Australia and the UK. In Australia, Genevieve was a newspaper reporter primarily for News Corp in Brisbane where she covered crime, politics and the environment before returning to the UK where she worked as a social media editor with Johnston Press. Prior to joining the ASC, Genevieve worked for the BBC as an investigations journalist researching content for the prime time rural affairs programme Countryfile, Britain’s most watched factual television series. While there she covered all manner of environmental and social issues effecting the British countryside, including an investigation into banking corruption which was nominated for a Royal Television Society award. She also worked on content featuring some of the world’s most influential philanthropists, Bill Gates and Sir James Dyson. In addition to journalism, Genevieve spent time volunteering for Marine Conservation Cambodia on a project to protect at-risk seahorse habitat. She holds a dual degree in journalism and geographical sciences (with a focus on marine environments) from the University of Queensland, Australia.
