Our standards are not static. They are based on best practices in aquaculture and have been developed to encourage innovation. To ensure the continued relevance and effectiveness of the standards, we coordinate periodical operational standards reviews that are open to the public. Based on the outcome of the review, the standards are amended to reflect changes in science and technology.
Our Group certification and Multisite certification methodologies have been created to encourage small-scale farmers and producers with multiple farm sites to meet our standards for responsible aquaculture.
The Improver programme make our programme more accessible and ensures that our standards are better understood by producers.
The project will develop software to capture and convey key data elements (KDEs) from certified farm origin throughout the supply chain to end consumers.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we working on a set of new standards, an alignment of our current farm standards, as well as several standard reviews and revisions.
The Plastics, Marine Litter and Ghost Gear project will review the need for new criteria targeting specifically the issue of marine litter, plastics and ghost gear.
